Kamloops Community Spices Up the 18th Annual Gardengate Salsa Challenge

Friday, August 23rd, marked another successful 18th Annual Gardengate Salsa Challenge in Kamloops. This much-anticipated annual event celebrates the unity and creativity of local community members, who craft their most flavorful salsa sauces using fresh ingredients grown and harvested by Gardengate team members, participants, and volunteers.

From 12:30 to 3:00 PM, Gardengate welcomed everyone to drop in and sample salsas from nine community teams, casting their votes for the People’s Choice and Team Spirit awards. A local salsa expert awarded the prestigious Chef’s Choice. The event also featured a photo booth, garden tours, music, food, and countless opportunities to reconnect with old friends and make new ones.
