Diversity, Equity, Inclusion, and Accessibility (DEIA)
Through our commitment to the annual Pledge to Measure initiative, Open Door Group is proud to be recognized as a leading employer in the medium-sized employer category in 2024, with 32% of surveyed employees self-identifying as persons with disabilities. This achievement reflects not only our dedication to transparency and accountability in measuring inclusion but also the real progress we are making toward building a workforce that reflects the diversity of the communities we serve.
At Open Door Group, Diversity, Equity, Inclusion, and Accessibility (DEIA) is the foundation of everything we do. We recognize that fostering a diverse, equitable, inclusive, and accessible workplace is essential to our mission and our success. These principles are embedded in our culture, policies, and everyday practices, shaping how we design our programs, deliver our services, and support one another as colleagues.
We actively encourage applications from individuals who represent the full spectrum of our communities and are committed to reflecting this diversity at all levels of our organization. Through inclusive hiring, equitable practices, and accessible environments, we aim to ensure that everyone has a fair chance to succeed and contribute meaningfully.

Diversity
Diversity is part of our identity. We value the unique backgrounds, identities, perspectives, and experiences that each person brings. A diverse team strengthens creativity, drives innovation, and helps us better understand and reflect the communities we support. We are committed to building a workforce that includes individuals across all dimensions of diversity, including—but not limited to—Indigenous peoples, people of all genders and sexual orientations, racialized communities, people with disabilities, and individuals of all ages, ethnicities, and faiths.

Equity
Equity means ensuring fair treatment, access, and opportunity for all. We understand that not everyone starts from the same place, and we strive to identify and remove systemic barriers that prevent full participation. Our approach to equity involves acknowledging and addressing power imbalances, historical injustices, and the differing needs of individuals to ensure that everyone can thrive.

Inclusion
Inclusion means creating a culture where everyone feels safe, valued, and respected. At Open Door Group, we build inclusive spaces through active listening, collaboration, and continuous learning. All staff receive gender inclusion and Four Seasons of Reconciliation training, and our Accessibility ERG helps guide inclusive and accessible practices across the organization. These ongoing efforts support our belief that inclusion is both a shared responsibility and a continuous journey.

Accessibility
Accessibility is central to our work and our values. We are dedicated to removing physical, digital, and attitudinal barriers so that everyone—especially people with disabilities—can fully access and engage with our services, opportunities, and work environment. We work in partnership with individuals with disabilities to promote autonomy, dignity, and full participation, and we strive to exceed all applicable accessibility standards under Canadian legislation.
