Join Conquering Waves Dragon Boat Team and enjoy the opportunity to be part of a supportive community. Our team welcomes individuals living with mental health challenges, providing a chance to connect with peers, friends, family, and supporters of mental health promotion!
For over 18 years, the Conquering Waves Dragon Boat Team has been challenging the stigma of mental challenges by bringing together individuals living with mental challenges, their friends, families, and/or supporters of Mental Health Promotion to train weekly for 15 weeks and compete in the annual Concord Pacific Dragon Boat Festival held each summer!
This year, the team practice sections will take place every Saturday from 1:00 pm-3:30pm starting March 15th, 2025 and continue until the Concord Pacific Dragon Boat Festival on June 21st- June 22nd, 2025. Practice Location: Creekside Community Centre, 1 Athletes Way, Vancouver.
Training Schedule
Please submit your application prior to the team Orientation on March 14th, 2025. A Thrive representative will get in touch with you shortly after reviewing your submitted information! Please note that you must live or work within the Vancouver Coastal Health service area Which is Vancouver, Richmond, North Vancouver, and West Vancouver.
