ODG’s Participation in the Pledge to Measure 2024: Driving Disability Inclusion in the Workplace
Open Door Group (ODG) has proudly reaffirmed its commitment to disability inclusion by participating in the Pledge to Measure 2023-2024. The Pledge to Measure initiative, which supports businesses in creating accessible and inclusive workplaces, emphasizes the importance of transparency and accountability in disability inclusion. By measuring and benchmarking these efforts, businesses across British Columbia are empowered to dismantle bias-based barriers and cultivate a diverse and thriving workforce.
For Open Door Group, the Pledge to Measure is more than an annual commitment; it is a crucial component of the organization’s broader diversity and inclusion strategy. With a total of 119 team members in BC, 71 participated in the Pledge to Measure survey, and 45% self-identified as having a disability. These impactful numbers reflect ODG’s ongoing efforts to foster a workplace where disability inclusion is not only welcomed but celebrated.

“A core value at Open Door Group is Accessibility, Equity, Diversity, and Inclusion,” says Lindsay Gaschnitz, People & Culture Director at Open Door Group. “To truly live this value, we must ensure that we are creating an environment that allows the diverse workforce we are building to thrive. By participating in the Pledge to Measure process, we have another opportunity to engage in conversation about disability inclusion and the importance of fostering a culture of diversity. We use the information we learn to develop programs and initiatives to increase engagement and belonging—from the initial hire and throughout the entire employee experience.”
Gaining Insight Through the Pledge to Measure
The Pledge to Measure offers ODG invaluable insights directly from its team mebers, allowing the organization to measure the progress of its diversity initiatives in a safe and confidential manner. As Gaschnitz explains, “What the Pledge to Measure provides, that nothing else really can in the same way, is the ability to gain insightful information directly from our team members about how they themselves identify, in a safe and confidential way. This crucial information provides us with an opportunity to measure the success of the initiatives and programs we implement. As we see our level of diversity increase, we know we are coming closer to getting it right!”
By actively engaging in Pledge to Measure, ODG continues to lead by example, demonstrating the transformative power of disability inclsuion in driving innovation and fostering a positive organizational culture. As the organization moves forward, it remains dedicated to ensuring that every team member, regardless of ability, has the opportunity to thrive and contribute to a vibrant and inclusive workplace.
