This year, Open Door Group celebrates 50 Years of Opening Doors, and we are proud of what that has meant.
For some, that meant a first job.
For others, a fresh start after time away.
For others, the confidence to build something new.
From our early days as a volunteer group delivering woodworking and sewing workshops in a Vancouver basement to who we are today, we’ve grown alongside the people and communities we serve – supporting individuals through every stage of their journey, from connection and confidence to careers, training, and entrepreneurship.
We’re grateful to have built strong partnerships with hundreds of employers each year and worked alongside community organizations and all levels of government to help create lasting impact.
Today, we’re excited to introduce our 50th anniversary logo – a reflection of that history and the many paths that have shaped it. The colours represent the many programs, services, and partnerships that have opened doors since 1976. The path through the logo reflects the unique journeys towards meaningful and sustainable employment that we’ve had the privilege of being part of.
And while much has evolved over the past 50 years, our purpose hasn’t changed:
to support people in their journey toward meaningful work and a fulfilling life.
Throughout this year, we’ll be marking this milestone in different ways, sharing stories of the people, partners, and communities who have shaped our journey, and where we’re going next.
