This past week marked another exciting milestone for Open Door Group in Edmonton as Patrick Fitzhenry joined Global Edmonton to speak about the impact and growth of the Pathways and BRIDGE programs.
The interview highlighted the importance of creating inclusive employment opportunities and strengthening community supports for individuals facing barriers to employment — including people living with visible and invisible disabilities, as well as individuals living in, or waiting for, supportive housing.
As our Edmonton presence continues to grow, the conversation served as a meaningful opportunity to showcase the work being done every day by our teams on the ground. From employment services and life stabilization supports to employer partnerships, peer support, and programs like In Motion & Momentum+, both Pathways and BRIDGE are helping individuals build confidence, develop skills, and move toward meaningful employment and greater stability.
The success and momentum of these programs would not be possible without the incredible dedication, compassion, and hard work of the Edmonton team. Across every role, staff continue to show an unwavering commitment to supporting participants, building community relationships, and creating welcoming, inclusive spaces where people feel empowered to take their next steps.
The response from community partners, employers, and participants continues to demonstrate the growing need for programs like Pathways and BRIDGE in Edmonton — and the impact Open Door Group is making through collaborative, person-centered support.
Thank you to everyone who continues to contribute to the success of these programs and to the positive impact being made in the Edmonton community every day.
