Gibsons Building Supplies

Gibsons Building Supplies (GBS) a family-owned and family-run business with a great reputation in the local community. They have two locations on the coast, one in Sechelt and one in Gibsons. For the past 4 years, they have been working with Open Door Group WorkBC to keep their business staffed and the community employed.

GBS first came to us for help filling an employment gap. When they saw that our services were free and very effective in connecting them with more job seekers directly, they decided to start working with us for their ongoing hiring needs.

Now, GBS sends us all their job postings. We promote their job openings, pre-screen candidates and, as the relationship developed over time, even began booking interviews on their behalf. If candidates come in with unique needs, we share the information with GBS and work with them to evaluate fit and tailor the position as needed. They trust us to know the kind of people they need to maintain a thriving business.

To date, GBS has hired nine people through Open Door Group WorkBC. Three of them remain integral members of the team to this day.
